Longevity is mostly decided by concentration, base notes and your own skin. Here is what performs, and how to stop wasting most of what you spray.
Bleu de Chanel Eau de Parfum

The default correct answer for a reason. Citrus opening over incense, ginger and cedar, entirely inoffensive in an office, and the eau de parfum concentration performs properly. If you own one fragrance and want to stop thinking about it, this is the one.
Dior Sauvage

Enormously popular and enormously divisive for exactly that reason. It is built on ambroxan, a base material with unusual persistence and projection, which is why it lasts and why you smell it on three other men in the lift. The Elixir version is stronger again and considerably less appropriate before evening.
Terre d’Hermès Eau de Parfum

Orange, flint, pepper and vetiver, and it smells like nothing else in the mainstream. It is warm rather than fresh, works from autumn through spring, and the vetiver base gives it genuine staying power. The most grown-up option on this list.
Acqua di Giò Profondo

The original Acqua di Giò defined the marine genre and had famously poor longevity. Profondo keeps the idea and adds a mineral, deeper base that survives a working day. If you want the classic aquatic without reapplying, this is the version to buy.
Chanel Allure Homme Sport

Built for heat. Citrus and pepper over a warm amber and vanilla base, which is what stops it evaporating the way most summer fragrances do. Reliable in a way that makes it slightly boring, which in an office is the point.
Prada L’Homme

Iris, neroli and a soft powdery base, quiet and clean and closer to the skin than most things here. It projects less than the others, so if you work in close quarters or somewhere with a fragrance policy, this is the safer strong option.
Le Labo Santal 33

Sandalwood, cardamom, leather and a lot of cedar. It has extraordinary longevity, it will still be on your shirt tomorrow, and a substantial number of people dislike it intensely. Try it on skin before committing, because this is not a blind buy.
Creed Aventus

Pineapple, birch smoke and musk, and the fragrance most responsible for a decade of imitations. Worth knowing before you spend the money that batch-to-batch variation is a genuine and widely documented issue with this one, so buying from a reputable retailer matters more than usual.
Montblanc Explorer

Sits in similar territory to Aventus at a fraction of the price and performs unreasonably well for what it costs. It is the sensible answer for anyone who wants that smoky fruity profile and cannot justify three figures for a bottle.
Guerlain Vétiver

Nearly seventy years old and still the reference point for the material. Earthy, green, slightly bitter, and completely unlike the sweet mainstream. It reads as considerably more confident than anything currently being advertised.
Acqua di Parma Colonia, as the Counter-Example

Genuinely lovely and it will not last your morning, because it is a true cologne concentration built on citrus. This is included deliberately: an expensive bottle disappearing quickly is usually the formula behaving correctly rather than a fake.
